Yesterday Preston turned two months old! Where has the time gone? Today we took him to the doctor for his well check. He is now 13 pounds 7 ounces and almost 24” long and very healthy. While we were in the room waiting for the doctor, Sean pointed out that Preston had one of my hairs on him. As I removed it I said, “I guess I am losing my hair!” Sean responded, “When all of your hair falls out, you will be a guy!”
On our way home from the doctor we got a call from the kids’ school saying that Matthew had fainted in the cafeteria. So we headed over to the school, picked him up and brought him home. We questioned him as to how he was feeling and he said he felt okay now, but was a little dizzy when he fainted. He looked normal and we weren’t sure what we should do….watch him for a while or take him to the doctor. It wasn’t long after we picked him up from school that the principal called to let us know what he learned about the incident. It turned out that Matthew was entertaining the girls by holding his breath and he held it too long and passed out!! MY WORD!! (yes, we did talk to him about the dangers of doing that and we hope that was not only the first but also the last time that happens!)
Preston, on the other hand, is a wonderful baby!! He is now sleeping through the night. He sleeps from midnight to 7 and sometimes he will sleep until 8! We just put him in bed (awake with his pacifier) and he just lays there quietly until he falls asleep. No screaming! He is almost always smiling and cooing. He has even let out a chuckle or two. He loves to sit in his bouncy seat and kick at the toys that hang in front of him. I am so lucky I get to be his mommy!
Well, that is all right now. I had more to say, but it all left my mind! So, here are some pictures. Some are from Chris' camera and some are from my new camera. Chris got me a camera for my Christmas present, but I got to open it early! I have so much to learn about it, but so far I love my new camera.
I finally captured one of Preston's smiles.
Hannah and one of her friends.
Sean was so proud of his Buzz Lightyear costume. His favorite part was that the wings lit up and blinked.
The ones that dressed up and went trick-or-treating.
A little video clip of Preston making noises. I'm sure it is boring to everyone else, but I find it very cute. I am trying to get a better video of his cooing, but he shuts up every time I turn on the camera.
Preston's 2 month pictures. The top one is with the new camera and the bottom with Chris' camera. Rebeckah took both of these pictures.
A picture I took of Preston.
The first picture I took with my new camera.
Another one of Rebeckah's self portraits.
Another picture of Preston I took while playing with my camera.
My sweet boy after his bath.
All dressed and ready for bed after his bath. I was just goofing around with my camera when took the picture below.
Oh, Matthew! Don't scare your cyber auntie like that! There was an episode of Dr. Phil this week about risky behaviors of teens and one was making themselves pass out. It kills brain cells...and it has killed children...scary. I'm so glad Matthew is okay.
That Sean is a hoot! I really like his costume. He is even cuter than the original Buzz.
I can't believe Preston is already 2 months old. The video was not at all boring. He looked like he was trying to say something and it was on the tip of his tongue and just wouldn't come. I caught a few seconds of cooing.
Your children are so beautiful. They look so cute all ready for trick or treating. I'm sure they had a great time.
I am a stay at home mom to six kids; Rebeckah (15), Austin (13), Hannah (11), Matthew (9), Sean (5) and Preston (born September 10, 2008). I have been married to Chris for 16 years.
