This is a little late, but here is a video I made for Rebeckah's birthday.

Illnesses and such

Well, I don't have much to write about because we have been battling illnesses around here. It started with Matthew. He had an ear infection. Then Austin came down with bronchitis. Preston was the next victim. He had a run of the mill cold, but it was miserable for all of us. Rebeckah was the next one to fall prey to the gunk. She had a nasty cough and fever. I thought for sure she had bronchitis too, but she just had a virus like Preston. I lost my voice for a day but that was all, because as we all know, moms aren't allowed to be sick!

Now that we are seeing the light at the end of the illness tunnel, I am trying to restore order to my house! With a family our size, it is not a good idea to slack off with the laundry!

Speaking of the size of our family, Chris realized that this year we have a child in every level of Children's Ministry/Youth at church. We have one in the nursery, one in preschool, one in elementary, one in the 5th/6th grade class, one in middle school and one in high school! Crazy!

We are still working on housebreaking our puppy, Pepper. With everyone being sick, we have had a few setbacks, but we are getting back on track. She is finally losing those razor sharp puppy teeth! I hope this means there is going to be an end to all of this chewing soon! She has chewed up several of the kids toys. Less to clean up now I guess!

Preston is growing up too fast! He is nearly 18 months. Where has the time gone?!? He is starting to talk more and more. If you just heard him talk, you would have no clue as to what he is saying, but he give you lots of clues. I love this age. It is so fun to watch them discover new things and figure out how to do new things. His newest skill is climbing up on the kitchen chairs. Unfortunately he hasn't learned how to STAY on the chair. You would think with all of the tumbles off the chair he would give up, but he is one persistent kiddo!

I'm Back!

I have been so lazy about blogging. I have decided that I am going to make a big effort to blog at least once a week this year. I hope I can manage that! Now, what has been happening with the Holders?

In December we took the kids on the Polar Express. It started off a little rocky because Preston was cranky because he was cutting 4 molars. Towards the end of the 2 1/2 hour ride he started to settle down (the cookies Mrs. Claus handed out helped too). The other kids enjoyed the train ride.

One day in January, Chris took Sean to practice t-ball. Austin joined them and as he was batting, Sean got in the way and got smacked in the head with the bat. It split his head open and he ended up with 4 stitches.

Two days after getting his stitches, Sean had his birthday party at Pump it Up. He had a great time, but I spent a lot of the time worried that he was going to bust a stitch. He didn't.

Face plant right on the stitches!

On Sean's birthday we went to Dublin, Tx and picked up our new puppy. She is a silky terrier named Pepper. We picked the name because Dublin is where my favorite Dr Pepper comes from.

Preston's Favorite Commercial

I have a lot of updating to do, but I just had to share this video. Preston LOVES this commercial. He doesn't even pay attention to the television until this commercial comes on and then he stops whatever he is doing and watches it. It makes him stop crying and smile every time! I am trying to get a video of him watching the commercial and will post it when I manage that.

February 2009 pictures

I'm almost current!! Here are pictures from February.

Little man finally started tolerating tummy time, but still isn't rolling over.

Despite all my efforts to prevent having a thumb sucker, I think I have one!

We took Sean and his friend, John, to a place called Pump It Up. They had a blast. Their favorite part was the giant slide.

The crash after the sugar high.
