Sean-isms and lots of pictures

Things here are, as you can imagine, crazy. We aren’t doing much, but with 6 kids it doesn’t take much to make you feel like you are insanely busy. The older three have been involved in preparing for UIL competition that takes place December 10th and 11th. The older two boys are still involved in scouts. Rebeckah has been practicing for a guitar recital on December 9th. Sean and Preston have just kept us busy being Sean and Preston.

We went to visit my parents for Thanksgiving. We had a nice time, but it was hard to see how much my mom’s health has declined. We also got to visit with Lisa and her boys, Justin and Ryan. My friend, Julie, also stopped by after Thanksgiving with her boys, Todd, Kody and Derek.

Chris got me a new digital camera for an early (and only) Christmas gift. Rebeckah and I have been picture-taking fools ever since then. I love the fact that I now have a camera with me all of the time. Before I was using Chris’ work camera, so I didn’t have one when he was at work. Of course, that is when the best photo opportunities happen! Rebeckah has also enjoyed my camera because she wants to be a photographer. She is always posing people or taking pictures of stuff around her.

I have been meaning to write down all of the funny/cute things Sean has said lately, but I keep forgetting. Here are a few that I remember:

~~ “Hey, you know what?!? I can’t see my face!”

~~ After Austin lost another tooth, we asked Sean if he is looking forward to losing his teeth. Sean told us, “No, I like the teeth I have!”

~~ When I was trying to burp Preston, Sean asked why Preston was fussy. I told him he has a bubble in him and I am trying to help him get it out so he feels better. Sean asked me, “If you don’t get the bubble out, will Preston explode?!?”

~~ One day Sean was running all over the place driving me crazy, so I told him “Sean you are driving me nuts!!” He came over, gave me a big hug and said “I love you too mommy!!”

That is all I can remember for now. Here are a several pictures Rebeckah and I have taken with my new camera (the pictures are from newest to oldest):

Sean fell last week and gave himself a nice shiner!

It is never dull around here!

Yesterday Preston turned two months old! Where has the time gone? Today we took him to the doctor for his well check. He is now 13 pounds 7 ounces and almost 24” long and very healthy. While we were in the room waiting for the doctor, Sean pointed out that Preston had one of my hairs on him. As I removed it I said, “I guess I am losing my hair!” Sean responded, “When all of your hair falls out, you will be a guy!”

On our way home from the doctor we got a call from the kids’ school saying that Matthew had fainted in the cafeteria. So we headed over to the school, picked him up and brought him home. We questioned him as to how he was feeling and he said he felt okay now, but was a little dizzy when he fainted. He looked normal and we weren’t sure what we should do….watch him for a while or take him to the doctor. It wasn’t long after we picked him up from school that the principal called to let us know what he learned about the incident. It turned out that Matthew was entertaining the girls by holding his breath and he held it too long and passed out!! MY WORD!! (yes, we did talk to him about the dangers of doing that and we hope that was not only the first but also the last time that happens!)

Preston, on the other hand, is a wonderful baby!! He is now sleeping through the night. He sleeps from midnight to 7 and sometimes he will sleep until 8! We just put him in bed (awake with his pacifier) and he just lays there quietly until he falls asleep. No screaming! He is almost always smiling and cooing. He has even let out a chuckle or two. He loves to sit in his bouncy seat and kick at the toys that hang in front of him. I am so lucky I get to be his mommy!

Well, that is all right now. I had more to say, but it all left my mind! So, here are some pictures. Some are from Chris' camera and some are from my new camera. Chris got me a camera for my Christmas present, but I got to open it early! I have so much to learn about it, but so far I love my new camera.

I finally captured one of Preston's smiles.

Hannah and one of her friends.

Sean was so proud of his Buzz Lightyear costume. His favorite part was that the wings lit up and blinked.

The ones that dressed up and went trick-or-treating.

A little video clip of Preston making noises. I'm sure it is boring to everyone else, but I find it very cute. I am trying to get a better video of his cooing, but he shuts up every time I turn on the camera.

Preston's 2 month pictures. The top one is with the new camera and the bottom with Chris' camera. Rebeckah took both of these pictures.

A picture I took of Preston.

The first picture I took with my new camera.

Another one of Rebeckah's self portraits.

Another picture of Preston I took while playing with my camera.

My sweet boy after his bath.

All dressed and ready for bed after his bath. I was just goofing around with my camera when took the picture below.

Blessings

I just want to say that I have the BEST husband ever! He is always wonderful, but he has been so great since Preston was born. I have had a hard time adjusting to having to pump and bottle-feed instead of nursing and he has been a great encourager for me. He has done the shopping, the cooking, the cleaning and taking care of the other five kids while I focused on building my milk supply and taking care of Preston. I am very blessed!

I had a couple of ego boosters this week! Just for grins I decided to try on my prepregnancy clothes and THEY FIT!!! They were even a little bit baggy! The second boost was when I played Wii Fit for the first time since having Preston. I played a lot while I was pregnant and each time I played it would ask me why I was gaining weight! Of course there isn't a pregnancy choice on there, so according to Wii Fit I was just getting fat! When I got on the other day, it congratulated me for reaching my goal weight ahead of schedule.

Here are some pictures of Preston Rebeckah took earlier this week and some pictures Chris took of Sean while they were out and about the other day.
